Alena Anisim explains why she supports Lukashenka

Alena Anisim, deputy head of the Belarusian Language Society has explained why she supports Alyaksandr Lukashenka in some policy issues. It is difficult for Lukashenka to communicate with Russia, she noted. The state leader positions himself as the leader of an independent state.

"I accept his position. He is defending the interests of the country and its citizens in the difficult situation. I fully support him in this,” Anisim said.

There is only one representative of the opposition in parliament – Hanna Kanapackaja from the United Civic Party. Alena Anism is the only representative of civil society.
