58 people die at Minsk enterprises in 2007

A total of 58 people died while working at the enterprises in Minsk, according to Syarhey Tkachou, the chief of labor safety department at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
This statistics takes into account the enterprises with the main offices registered in Minsk. It means that this list also includes the accidents that occurred outside the Belarusian capital or the country.

For example, the list includes the death of 11 Belarus pilots in Somalia where the local rebels shot down a Belarusian cargo plane in March 2007. Last year, 16 people died and 31 were heavily injured in the accidents outside the capital.

The violation of discipline and safety rules is the main cause of the accidents, reports Belapan.
