10 finger prints in Belarus passport

Belarus is prepared to introduce biometric passports, Belarus' first deputy interior minister Anatol Kulyashou said at an international conference in Minsk.
He said it would take 2-3 years to implement the measure after the president's decree.

The Interfax news agency reports that the experimental version of the Belarusian passport will contain a non-contact chip with the prints of 10 fingers. According to Kulyashou, the international experience has shown that bio-passports are necessary due to security concerns.
