Tennis: Victoria Azarenka up to 16th place in world rankings
Belarusian tennis star Victoria Azarenka climbed from 22th to 16th place in the WTA ranikings (Women's Tennis Association). This happened after her victory at a tournament in Brisbane on January 9th. According to Euroradio, in the final, Azarenka defeated with confidence Germany's Angelika Kerber 6-3, 6-1.
Another Belarusian female tennis play Volha Havartsova remains in Top 100 of the world rankings. She's currently in the 72th place, one point down from the 71st place a week ago.
On January 18, Australian Open - the first of the season's tournament series Grand Slam - will start in Melbourne. Azarenka won Australian Open twice in a row - in 2012 and 2013.
