A member of the Ukrainian regiment Azov was detained in Minsk a few days ago. The person is 20-year-odl Stas from Vitsebsk, Nasha Niva reports. His call sign in the regiment was ‘Belarusian’ and he enjoyed authority with fellow soldiers for his uncompromising stand. Stas has never given interviews and did not make his activities public.

‘Belarusian’ was a platoon commander, Azov members say. However, he wanted to return home because he ‘was fed up with Ukraine’. Stas was hoping that nobody would recognize him but he was wrong. It is not clear what charges may be brought up against him now.

According to the Belarusian’s page on VKontakte, he had neo-Nazi views.

Member of the Right Sector Taras Avatarov is standing trail on Minsk Frunze District Court. He is accused of ‘illegal arms transportation’ and ‘smuggling’.
