Alyaksandr Milinkevich not registered as candidate for MP

Member of Alyaksandr Milinkevich's nomination group Yury Melyashkevich presented him at the consideration of his complaint in the CEC. In his speech, he underlined that he considered refusal to register Alyaksandr Milinkevich as a candidate for deputy politically motivated.

Milinkevich’s nominations group filed 2 452 signatures to the district commission. The CEC expert said that 66 of them could not be counted, as one of the signature sheets had no indication of the person, for whom the signatures were collected, and 51 citizens who did not reside at the territory of that particular electoral district No. 109 put their signatures. 2386 signatures remained - twice as many as needed.

However, 53 of the 200 signatures that were selected for the first test, were considered invalid due to different reasons. This is 26.5% of the verified signatures, although 15% is enough to withdraw a contender from the electoral campaign. Further inspection revealed 45 more invalid signatures. And 12 of those signatures were on one sheet, which the members of Milinkevich's nomination group forgot to verify.

The CEC member with advisory capacity Ihar Lyalkou considers the results of the forensic expertise, with the help of which the district commission confirmed invalidity of the signatures collected by Milinkevich, not worth trust.

The CEC voted and declined Alyaksandr Milinkevich's complaint. He is not registered as a candidate for MP.
