Only District Council head’s wife can meet with voters in Slutsk District

У Слуцкім раёне да выбаршчыкаў пускаюць толькі жонку старшыні райсавету?

Parliamentary candidates cannot meet with voters of Slutsk District constituency #67 because only pro-government candidate Valyantsina Razhanets, editor-in-chief of Slutski Krai, is allowed to come to election rallies.

Candidate from the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (Hramada) Anatol Yurevich could not meet with voters in the village club of Amhovichy, Slutsk District. The meeting had been allowed by Slutsk District Election Commission. Yurevich arrived in advance because he wanted to listen to his rival Valyantsina Razhanets.

“I was sitting there quietly. About 25 or 30 people were driven together. She finished her agitation and it was my time to speak to voters. I told the present about it,” the party website quotes Yurevich.

However, head of the village council Adam Zhanzhetski made everyone leave. Head of Slutsk District Council had ordered him not to let any candidates but his wife Valyantsina Razhanets talk to voters, he explained.

The social-democrat is going to complain to the police and ask to start a criminal case for power abuse and creation of obstacles to his agitation.
