Lukashenka to Putin: Our countries’ turnout has been decreasing for 2 years

A meeting of the Supreme Council of the Union State is being held in Moscow. Medium-term priority goals and directions of the Union State’s development will be denoted there.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka drew attention to the results of the bilateral trade and economic cooperation in 2013-1014. “Unfortunately, our turnout has been decreasing a little for two years. The unfavourable economic situation is one of the main reasons for it. Hovered, we are to blame too: we are creating tension in trade relations and imbalance in the economic policy of the two states which creates artificial barriers preventing the free transportation of goods. All these barriers need to be removed,” BELTA quotes the Belarusian President. In his opinion, it is necessary to form a single industrial policy and a single market.

"The budget that we need to approve today reaches almost 5 billion Russian roubles. 85% of the expenses will be spent on the financing of 36 joint programmes and events. The union budget policy should be more flexible and efficient which would allow us control resources in the main directions,” the Belarusian leader announced.
