Will another pre-electoral block appear in Belarus?
Four potential presidential contenders conducted a meeting in the village Bershty in Hrodna region. The meeting was arranged by the leader of the movement "For Freedom!" Aliaksandr Milinkevich, the BPF candidate for President Ryhor Kastusyou, an independent politician Ales Mikhalevich and the candidate of the "Greens" Jury Hlushakou.
The politicians discussed political and economic situation in the country. As it was informed by Ryhor Kastusyou in his comment to the European Radio for Belarus, the participants of the meeting had not appointed one of them as a presidential contender.
Kastusyou: "We started trusting each other. We agreed to meet and talk. The meeting was successful. We now have an agreement on cooperation during the upcoming electoral campaign. It was difficult before we defined common positions. Now we have finally defined them”.
Detailed results of the meeting are kept in secret. As it was informed by Ales Mikhalevich, they would announce them at the special conference as the situation developed.
