Victar Hanchar could have celebrated his 50th anniversary today, but nobody knows what happened to him

Victar Hanchar, the first vice speaker of the Belarusian Supreme Council of the 13th convocation and the head of the Central Election Commission, could have celebrated his 50th anniversary today.
He used to be one of the most active opposition members. Hanchar disappeared on September 16, 1999 together with his friend, a businessman Anatol Krasouski.

Documents according to which the politician had been eliminated by “the death squadron” were published in 2001. However, the Belarusian police have not given the answer what happened to Victar Hanchar and other missing opposition members.
