USA urges Belarusian authorities to “save the life” of E.Zeltzer
The USA has urged the Belarusian authorities to “save the life” of an American citizen Emmanuel Zeltser kept in the KGB confinement cell. The American Embassy to Minsk has made a special appeal in connection with it.
The American diplomatic mission notes that representatives of the American Embassy were allowed to visit E.Zeltzer only twice – on March 27 and March 25. The consul drew attention to the obvious worsening of Zeltser’s health during his last visit. He had lost a lot of weight and was very weak. Zeltzer is not allowed to take the medicine he needs which may lead to irreversible internal processes.
Let us remind you that E.Zeltzer was detained in Minsk airport on March 12, 2008. He arrived there for a short-term meeting. Mass media assumed that the arrest of the lawyer was connected with the death of a businessman Badry Patarkatsyshvili in London.
