The Council of Ministers abolished revert to standard time on September 15.

“There were a lot of complaints, many of them were sent to the President's administration as well. There was no objective information that the time revert could damage people's health, but the doctors claimed that a person needed a week to adapt to this”, - head of time and frequency sector of the Belarusian State Metrology Institute Alyaksandr Halyha has explained to Euroradio.

At the same time, deputy director of the Physiology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences Uladzimir Kulchytski thinks that a small quantity of people suffer from the seasonal time revert.

Kulchytski: “If we count people who suffer from the time revert we will get definitely less than 5%”.

As a rule, these are elderly people or pensioners for whom it makes no difference at what time to wake up. The expert says that such people should argue less and watch their life style more.

Kulchytski: “Truly, there are people who are influenced by change of time belts strongly. I mean, such people can work only where the time factor is not essential. They adapt to the society themselves, not vice versa”.

In Kulchytski's opinion, the economic factor is more important when we speak about the seasonal time revert. According to Halyha, only the transfer to the day-light saving time saves money, the revert to the winter time causes... losses.

Halyha: “When it was first introduced 100 years ago, the motivation was indeed the economic one. Coal was mostly used for warming the electric stations. They worked in the day-light time. However, the world has changed for 100 years. Energy-saving technologies appeared, and they now work all the time”.

The head of the time and frequency sector says that now people will not have to think of winter or summer time and will be able to work normally. As for the fact that Belarus will be two hours ahead Europe since October 25, it does not upset him much. The only thing is, it will be inconvenient to watch live "BATE" games on TV.

Halyha: “Even the EU tried to abolish the time revert in 2007, but something went wrong. Maybe, our example will influence them”.
