Court accepts Amnesty International's documents from Stefanovich

The human rights defender filed similar documents also on behalf of the Danish human rights institute. The court attached them to the case's materials. Also, a document issued by the Lithuanian Ministry of Justice that the previous information about Byalyatski's and Stefanovich's bank accounts was not true, was attached to the case, reports Radio Liberty.

Let us remind you, the human rights defender stands trial allegedly for concealment of incomes. The tax inspection grounds on the information received from Lithuania and Poland. They demand that he should pay Br 43 million in total.

At the trial, representatives of the tax inspection stated that they had suggested that Stefanovich should give explanations with regard to his incomes, and he had allegedly refused. The human rights defender asked to show the document which would confirm that he had refused, but there was none. The tax inspectors claimed that it wasn't obligatory to file a written refusal. 

A break has been announced in the trial till 2.15 p.m., December 16.
