Polish visa to cost 5 euro for Belarusians

But only till December 31. At the same time Poland will start giving out Schengen visas on January 1 instead of November 1. They will cost 60 euro.
A national Polish visa will cost 5 euro for Belarusians till December 31. The introduction of Schengen visas costing 60 euro has been put off for one month in Poland.

They will start being given out on December 1 instead of November 1. This agreement was reached during the Belarusian-Polish consular discussion that took place in Warsaw on October 2-3.

A press-secretary of the Belarusian Embassy to Poland Dzmitry Vybarny informed ERB about it.

“The agreement to put off the introduction of new visa rules till December 1, 2007 was reached after a suggestion made by Belarus. Poland also expressed its desire not to increase consular fees for national visas that will be given out till December 31”.

A press-secretary of the Polish Embassy to Minsk Monica Sadkowska has not confirmed the information yet but she admits that it may be possible.

“I do not have any official information about it. But it will probably be like that”.

Rui Pereira, the Minister of Internal Affaires of Portugal now presiding in the European Union, claimed that nine EU member states including Poland had to join the Schengen agreement a week before the Catholic Christmas, on December 18. Previously, the expansion of the Schengen area was planned for January 1, 2008.

Thus, it turned out that on December 1 the Polish Consulate will be giving out Schengen visas for 60 euro that will become valid after December 18. National visas for the old price will be available till December 31.
