Lithuania to switch to euro on January 1, 2015

The introduction of the European currency will strengthen the country’s’ security, the government believes. However, 60% of Lithuanians are against it, pollsters say.

It will be possible to use litas for 15 days after the introduction of the euro. People will be able to exchange litas to euro without any restrictions indefinitely.
