Hearing of “case of 14” to continue in Minsk court tomorrow

The hearing of “the case of 14” will continue in Central District Court of Minsk tomorrow morning. Mihail Subach, Pavel Vinahradau and Maxim Dashuk are accused of “organization of group actions that violated the civil order” during an entrepreneurs’ action that took place in Minsk on January 10. Let us remind you that 10 people stood trial in April. Andrei Kim was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment in a colony. Mihail Pashkevich, Alyaksei Bondar, Artsyom Dubski, Ales Straltsou, Ales Charnyshou, Mihail Kryvau and Tattsyana Tsishkevcih were sentenced to 2 years of restriction of liberty without being sent to special institutions. Anton Koipish and Uladzimir Syarheeyeu were fined for 3.5 million roubles.

Mihail Subach explained why the trial of the other activists had been postponed in an interview with ERB:

"Several people including me did not manage to read the material of the case. We had been singled out for another case even before we arrived there. The investigation was dealing with those 10 people at first and they decided to deal with us later”.

Alyaksandr Barazenka was also supposed to stand trial on May 23 but he went abroad and the Belarusian police announced him wanted.

The trial will start in Central District Court of Minsk in Kirau Street, 21 at 9.30 a.m. on Friday.
