Culture minister writes poems, has no plans to publish

Belarus' culture minister Pavel Latushka writes poems, but has no plans to have them published.  The official said it in a statement during the 15th Belarusian Written Day celebrations on September 6 in Smargon reports BELTA.

Pavel Latushka also said that the mother tongue should be promoted by personal actions. He said that when serving as Belarus ambassador in Poland, he would use the Polish language. Now, being the culture minister, he mostly speaks Belarusian.

To give an example, Latushka noted that his daughter recently wrote poems in Belarusian. According to the minister, he never forced her to speak Belarusian but would always remind her that it was very important to remember the Belarusian roots.
