Belarus deports two Polish teachers
The Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza reports that Halina Zaikowska and Piotr Boran, who taught the Polish language and history in Brest, have been deported from Belarus. The teachers face a five-year ban for travelling to Belarus. The deportation was officially justified by the fact that the teachers had not lived for several days at the registered residence. According to Piotr Boran, they were in the process of shifting to another location.
Before the deportation, the Belarusian police officers took teacher' finger prints, photographs and taped them on video.
Nearly 300 children attend various courses at the Polish school in Brest, with the majority of them seeking to continue studies in Poland.
