Authorities in Maladzecna face meat overproduction

Local retailers in the Maladzecna district have been given the February 1 deadline to buy out the meat products from the local meat-processing plant.

Around 20 tons of unsold sausages remain at the plant’s refrigerators, but the expiry date is nearing.

The district authorities gathered an emergency meeting with the participation of both the state-owned and private retailers.

The food stores have managed to buy only 13 tons of a total of 20. It is still unclear what to do with the remainder.

Another “crisis meeting” was to take place in the district executive committee, our local correspondent Zmicier Panjamonau reports.
