Astrid Lindgren's daughter visits Minsk
Astrid Lindgren's daughter arrived in Minsk to take part in the launch of the Belarusian-language edition of The Pipi Longstocking book. The presentation took place on April 10 at the National Academy. Karin Newman, the daughter of Sweden's famous writer, read out a paragraph in the language of the original.
The Belarusian edition was published in 2000 copies. The Belapan news agency reports that the book will be distributed among bookstores and libraries.
This is not the first children's book translated from Swedish into the Belarusian language. In 2007, Astrid Lindgren's Karlsson-on-the-Roof was published in Belarus.
