100 students in Minsk mark 'Hare's Day'

Up to 100 students in Minsk staged a flash-mob to mark one month since the abolition of social benefits. They put on mock hare's masks and rode free of charge on the public transport. Hare has a slang meaning of a ticketless passenger in Belarus. The youth were seen eating cabbage and carrots. They vowed to take free rides on the public transport and to continue demanding the return of social benefits from the government.

Several flash mobbers were detained by the police but were later released without charges. Similar actions on the 'Hare's Day' will take place on the 17th day of every month, reports Radio Svaboda.
