Znich - Mroya

We are going to correct the last year's mistakes in today's "Peradacha-Agliadacha". I have no idea how it happened but we forgot to speak about the new album of the band Znich called "Mroya", which was released back in October 2011. Although, frankly speaking, it is difficult to call this album a new one. Five years have passed since the previous album of the band, "Crosses-Talismans" (2007). Therefore, all the songs of the new album appeared in the concert programs from time to time and the fans know them well. The musicians decided to add two bonuses to "Mroya" in order to stress out the "succession" - the strongest tracks from the previous album - "Crosses-Talismans" and "Kryva-Kryvejta". Like, see, what was then and what is now!

It is obvious from the very first track that there is something to compare. At first, the album turned out to be more melodic, it is rich with arrangements and instrumental insertions, therefore, it sounds lighter than the mentioned 'Crosses-Talismans". Besides, keys started playing a nearly main role in the arrangements for the first time ever. They have always been one of the leading instruments for the Znich, but now...The strange thing is, there is a lot of them but not too much! Everything is fine!

On the whole, the musicians made many experiments with style and sound in the album "Mroya". Frontman and lead singer of the band Ales Tabolich said before the album's release that "the music has become very complicated, more melodic and experimental at the same time. There are different directions now, not just the pagan-metal. There will be folk, and brutality, and the core reefs. To put it shortly, the album is very many-sided". It is hard to disagree with that. On the one hand, the album is really diversified, on the other hand, it still sounds like Znich. Even though it may be so due to Ales Tabolich's voice.
