Ukrainian troops repel rebels’ advance on Donetsk Airport
Militants continue to deploy heavy artillery in their assault on Donetsk Airport.
Tanks and grenade launchers are being used against Ukrainian troops, Ukrainian mass media report. Soldiers are still managing to beat off the attacks and seize military equipment and weapons.
A couple of tanks approached the airport in order to shoot at it yesterday. Militants had already used Tulpan mortars against the airport earlier, UNIAN reports. A mine weights 32 kilos and leaves a shell hole of 10 metres.
The Ukrainian troops responded to the attacks with the help of artillery and beat off the attack.
