Tragedy near South Korea: hundreds may be dead (video)
There were 476 people including over 300 schoolchildren on board the shipwrecked South Korean ferry.
Up to 180 people have been rescued while 300 are still missing. Many people may be stuck in the ferry rooms. Two people have died.
A large-scale rescue operation has been launched in the area. Dozens of ships are taking part in it. An American landing ship with helicopters on board has joined the operation.
