Svyardlou shares cell with Vinahradau in Akrestsina detention center

During the meeting Pavel also told about the circumstances of his detention. His testimony coincided with the results of the investigation conducted by Euroradio. According to Svyardlou, on Friday morning on June 22 some strong guys in plain clothes approached him, said they were policemen and put him into the bus without showing their certificates. Then they delivered him to the Maskouski district police department and executed the protocol of detention. They did not explain the reasons why Svyardlou's personality interested them so much.

At present moment, Svyardlou's lawyer is preparing an appeal against the sentence. If the appeal is satisfied, the Euroradio's journalist will be released in a week - on July 2.

Let us remind you, our journalist was accused of swearing in public and sentenced to 15 days of detention. Euroradio does not exclude that the police detained the correspondent in order to take a revenge for the report from the Minsk metro when the journalists walked around the metro carrying big bags and no one paid attention to them. On the same day, on June 22, a blue mini-bus was on duty near Euroradio's office while the police officers asked the keeper of the building whether another correspondent Vital Ruhain was in the office.
