Mikalai Charnavus’ trial postponed till February 10
The civil activist has stood trial in Baranavichy today.
Author: Euroradio 03.02.2012 12:14Charnavus stood trial for having signed the appeal for a picket sent to the City Executive Committee as “chairperson of the civil association “Kabzar”” Brest Province Executive Committee refused to register. The association of the Ukrainian diaspora was refused registration because the authorities had agreed to give an office to the organization at first and changed their mind later. The City Executive Committee filed a suit against Charnavus.
Ukrainian vice consul in Brest Irina Chebotaryova attended the hearing. She was bewildered by the fact that a person had to stand trial for an initiative.
