Putin to Poroshenko: Russia can occupy Vilnius, Warsaw and Riga

The previous scandal was caused by Vladimir Putin’s conversation with President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso. Allegedly, the Russian President said: “I can seize Kiev in two weeks if I like.” Moscow claimed that Putin had been misunderstood.

This time Putin has told Petro Poroshenko: “Russian troops could seize Kiev and also Riga, Vilnius, Tallinn, Warsaw and Bucharest in two weeks,” influential German edition Süddeutsche Zeitung reports. Poroshenko reported this statement to Barroso.

Vladimir Putin advised Petro Poroshenko ‘not to rely on the European Union much’, the German newspaper noted. He can influence it and ‘block decision-making’, Putin claimed.
