Parrot Yasha registers as a local election candidate
Parrot Yasha’s nomination group has been registered in Homel.
Homel activist Kastus Zhukouski told Euroradio the idea was just a joke. The activist did not even think that Yasha’s documents could be accepted.
The activist shopped the parrot’s photo onto a real person’s passport page. They presented a copy of the page together with the other documents.
A representative of the election committee looked at the parrot’s photo very attentively and then… accepted the registration documents of Yakau Iosifavich Zhukouski’s initiative group.
However, they decided not to turn the situation into absurd and asked to annul the parrot’s registration.
