Jean-Claude Juncker: Eastern Partnership should be reconsidered

The summit in Riga showed that the Eastern Partnership process should be reconsidered, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker announced.

Juncker refuted the rumours about the desire of the European Commission to stop the expansion of the European Union. “This is not true,” the politician said. However, he confirmed his previous statement about not accepting any new countries into the EU within the next five years. None of the current candidates sticks to the terms of membership in the EU at the moment, he said.

There are six EaP member states– Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Belarus.
