Ice Hockey World Cup: quarter-final pairs set
The first stage of the World Cup has been finished in Helsinki and Stockholm.
The Belarusian national team secured only the 7th place in their group (14th at the tournament) and didn't make it to the play-offs. Euroradio reminds, Belarus will host the next Ice Hockey World Cup.
Russian will play against the USA, Canada vs Sweden, Finland vs Slovakia, Switzerland vs the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals on May 16.
Austria and Slovenia lost their places in the elite so they would be substituted by Kazakhstan and Italy.
