He was not needed any longer - colleagues about the man who blew himself up

The 59-year-old man who blew himself near a grocery shop in Babruisk had suffered from brain cancer, Mahilou Region's Investigation Committee spokesperson Aksana Salianiuk confirmed to Euroradio.

Salianiuk: “We have medical records that prove the diseased had braib cancer. Investigation is underway to identify the type of explosives. His wife said the husband began drinking after having learned the diagnosis and eventually got into depression.”

The 59-year-old man blew himself up near a Basket shop in Batave street in Babruisk at 2100 on February 1.

The man had worked as a public bus driver; his discipline and job performance record was perfect, Euroradio has learned.

“Their family is decent. No bad word should be said about them. They have raised two sons - one of their and the adopted one. The kids are good,” former workmates described to Euroradio the family of the diseased.

They said the man decided to resign immediately after having learned his deadlky diagnosis.

Worker: “He underwent medical checkups and then he came and said he was quitting for health reasons. He was very subdued that he was not needed anylonger. Probably, that's why…”

The bus depot admiinstration said he was a very responsible worker who would never refuse to help anyone.
