Georgian president urges to enhance Russia sanctions

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili believes that Russia sanctions need to be enhanced. He wants the Russian administration to understand that its policy as regards Ukraine and other neighboring states is inadmissible. The Georgian leader shared his opinion after his meeting with Austrian President Heinz Fischer, RBK reports.

Russia thinks that its neighbors are ‘countries where Russia’s interests prevail and it is promoting its interests in a military way’, Margvelashvili said. It undermines stability in Europe, the Georgian President stressed. Anti-Russia sanctions have produced a negative effect on the Georgian economy but the necessity of such sanctions is not to be disputed, he admitted.

Russia is trying to punish Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova for their European choice, Margvelashvili believes.
