Nasha Niva editor-in-chief on BT: Don't smash opposition (video)

Шэф-рэдактар "Нашай нівы" на БТ: Не трэба граміць апазіцыю (відэа)

The editor-in-chief of the non-governmental newspaper Nasha Niva Andrei Dynko has taken part in the programme Editors’ Club on Belarus-1 for the first time. It was recorded on Friday and shown on Sunday, May 29.

The participants of the programme discussed Nadezhda Savchenko, the future parliamentary election in Belarus, Belarusian independence issues and the scandal connected with Tell the Truth and Tatstsyana Karatkevich. Presenter Henadz Davydzka looked at the photo of Belarusian oppositionists playing table football and suggested the term ‘table opposition’.

"This is an insulting term,” Dynko said. “It is essential that state structures stopped trying to humiliate and smash... There is no need to smash.” Davydzka has to agree with him.

The editor-in-chief of Nasha Niva also disputed the fact that Belarus was becoming more and more ‘Russophobic’. It should not be said, especially on state TV channels, because only Black-Hundreders say things like this, Andrei Dynko noted.  Editor-in-chief of SB. Belarus Today Pavel Yakubovich supported him.

Dynko also commented on propaganda. “It has always lost,” he said. “And it will definitely lose in the epoch of the Internet,” Dynko added. He suggested creating a Belarusian-language TV channel for children at the end of the programme.
