District electoral committee: Reports about rigging are provocation

Nobody has put additional ballot papers into ballot boxes at polling station #625 in Minsk, head of the district election committee of Kalinouskaya constituency #108 Iryna Rodzik told journalists.  She has commented on the accusations of election malpractices pronounced by independent observers.

The information about election malpractices published on the Internet ‘is a provocation directed at discrediting the election campaign, the head of the district election committee claimed. Transparent ballot boxes are used at the polling station and the voting is ‘open, transparent and public’, Iryna Rodzik said.

Speaking about discrepancies in the number of voters counted by the committee and observers, it was a secretary’s mistake, Rodzik explained.  She was reporting the whole number of voters daily instead of reporting the number of people voting each day separately: thus, the number announced on Friday was the total number of people who voted in four days. In fact, she had to report the number of voters separately every day, BELTA informs.

Observers from the Right of Choice reported election malpractices at polling station #625 and published the photos of a ballot box.
