Belarus central bank: Income statements a must for consumer loans

Banks are required to ask their clients to submit income sertificates prior to loan decisions. Income can be justified by either a payroll statement or pension certificate or a state social security certificate.

The National Bank’s resolution will be in force until May 1, 2017, BELTA reports.

Banking industry experts reckons that the ban on loans without income statements will decrease shopping lending, BelaPAN reports.  The ban on consumer credits without income statements may be caused by the desire of fiscal authorities to limit consumer imports, according to representatives of some commercial banks.
