Belarus women have higher education level

Women in Belarus have had a higher education level than men over a long period of time, Belapan reports quoting the data from the National Statistics Committee.

Among the working women, 54.6 percent have university and college education against 37.1 percent of men (48.7 and 32.8 percent correspondingly in 2000).



Men prevail in the number of workers (56.3 percent), while women prevail among public servants (68.1 percent). Women are traditionally more employed in the trade and catering sector as well as the institutions of culture, finances, crediting and insurance, education and health care (between 73.9 and 85.7 percent of the total working population). .
