Belarus bids to host 2021 Ice Hockey World Championship

Belarus has sent an application to host the 2021 Ice Hockey World Championship to the International Ice Hockley Federation (IIHF), secretary general of the Belarusian Hockey Federation Yaraslau Zauharodni told by.tribuna.com.

Belarus’ rivals will be defined at the next congress, the sports official said. Finland is rumoured to be going to apply too.

"Finland is a very serious rival. If we lose, we will apply for hosting the championship ni 2022. However, the application for the 2021 Ice Hockey World Championship will give us an advantage and we are sure that Belarus will host eth championship either in 2021 or in 2022,” Zauharodni said.
