Banks renew currency exchange transactions with ruble card accounts

Many Belarusian banks renew foreign exchange transactions on ruble cards, BELTA reports.

The MTB increased limits on ruble card transactions abroad. From January 26, these cards can be used to pay for goods and services in the amount equal to 7.5 million rubles. This same rule was introduced for transactions with foreign online stores. In addition, the bank increased the weekly limit on using ruble cards abroad, equal to 30 million rubles. Cash from ruble cards can withdraw abroad in the amount equivalent to 4.5 million rubles a day and 15 million rubles a week.

From January 27, the VTB Bank will increase the limit on foreign currency exchange transactions using Visa ruble cards. The daily limit is increased from the previous 300 euros to 500 euros (for operations in other currencies - same sum in the equivalent).

The Maskva-Minsk bank also resumed foreign exchange transactions for ruble cards.

Some Belarusian banks (Belagroprombank, BPS-Sberbank, Alfa-Bank) earlier removed restrictions over non-cash foreign exchange transactions.

The restrictions on foreign exchange transactions were introduced by banks in December 2014.
