The exposition of the winners of the international contest World Press Photo has opened in Kastrychnikaya Street, 16 in Minsk.

World Press Photo is the biggest and most prestigious annual photo journalism prize.

The exposition has been opened in Minsk for the third time. It is held in ‘a big format’ for the first time: photos are displayed in stands and occupy half of the hangar.

Belarus is one of the first countries to see the WPP-2016. The exposition will be brought to about 100 cities in 45 countries this year.

The jury has awarded prizes to 41 photographers from 21 states in 8 nominations this year. 82 951 photos made by 5775 photographers from 128 countries were sent to the contest.
