Chernobyl Way participant forbidden to enter Belarus for 10 years
Russian citizen Vladimir Novikov has become a persona non grata in Belarus.
According to the human rights centre Viasna, the activist was released after a 15-day arrest on May 11. He was jailed for taking part in the action Chernobyl Way on April 26.
Novikov was met by his grandfather who lives in Minsk and civil activists. However, Vladimir was pushed into a police car and he only managed to scream out that he was being taken to the railway station.
Novikov’s causational appeal will be considered in his absence.
