Election in Egypt continues: four candidates and no people (PHOTO REPORT)

The additional stage of voting, run-off, was appointed on December 5-6. According to the already published information, the pro-Islamic party leads, but there are two more stages ahead, which will take place in the middle of December and in the beginning of January. It is impossible to predict what the official results will be after all the stages are completed, but the preliminary information already got to the Egyptian media. The issue of covering the preliminary results was acute at all society levels: pro-democratic institutions claimed that is it wrong to hide the first results from the society, while the others thought that next voting stages may lose sense when the preliminary results are announced at once.

A photo-report from the polling stations in Cairo: there are few people there, the number of individual candidates in a ballot got down to 4, the military stayed there with their tanks and machine-guns, and they did not allow taking photos everywhere. Euroradio's correspondent watched (and secretly photographed) a conflict at the territory of a polling station (a little strike of the station's employees, the number of whom was "shortened" by nearly two times). Also, there is still much propaganda in the area of polling stations, and it was forbidden to enter some of them.

This is how the polling stations looked on December 5.

Red and even pink ink was added to blue one!
