Foreign diplomats working in Belarus gathered to commemorate famous historical figure Tadeusz Kościuszko. U.S., Swiss, Polish, Ukrainian and Russian diplomats, the delegation of Tadeusz Kościuszko Foundation and other guests gathered there, Radio Liberty reports.

First secretary of the U.S. Embassy to Belarus Elizabeth Lewis suggested ‘commemorating Kościuszko’s life and achievements in her speech.  “Kościuszko is uniting us. This person should unite us even more,” Polish Ambassador to Belarus Konrad Pawlik noted.

The Ambassadors and guests laid flowers, went on an excursion and planted an oak alley near the Kościuszko Memorial Estate.
