The number of parcels from foreign online shops has not decreased much after the introduction of the limit of 22 euro, head of the Belarusian Customs Committee Yury Syanko told BelTA.
The number of parcels increased when they started discussing the introduction of the limit, he said. The number of decreasing now, Syanko said. People who wanted to buy cheap items online keep doing it.
Journalists asked Syanko about the way to bypass the 22 euro limit. Some people order goods from Chinese shops and receive them from Russian agents.
Syanko threatened them: “Try doing it. What if the customs committee notices it? You will be describing how ‘good’ it is later.”
Russian colleagues have been asked to consider the introduction of the limit of 22 euro too, Syanko said. Russians are thinking about it now.
Low limits are also in force in the European Union and China has decreased the limit from 7 to 0 dollars, he added.
