Vice PM Kachanava tells Belarusians where to read news

Віцэ-прэм'ер Качанава распавяла, дзе беларусам трэба даведвацца навіны

Belarusian online mass media must avoid exercising destructive influence on the public opinion, Minister of Information Liliya Ananich announced on January 4.

Mass media must avoid economic speculations and highlight Belarus’ achievements in different spheres instead, tut.by quotes her. “We do have achievements. They need to be announced on TV and in newspapers,” the official claimed.

Deputy PM Natallya Kachanava expressed a similar idea. She recommended that Belarusians looked through all amass media, watched news programmes and read newspapers. However, information may be taken out of context sometimes, she claimed. “There are state mass media that have access to information presented by competent state bodies,” Kachanava summed it up.
