Trilateral group on Ukraine to gather in Minsk again

Another meeting of the Trilateral contact group on Ukraine will be held in Minsk on Monday, August 3. The contact group will start working in the afternoon, ria.ru reports. The four subgroups – on security, economic, political and humanitarian issues - will work in the morning.

The sides prepared an agreement on the removal of heavy artillery and tanks from the dividing line at the previous meeting. The text was approved by the security subgroup on July 21 but the contact group did not ratify it.

The document will be signed by the heads of ‘the republics’ Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitski, representatives of the so-called “Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics’ claimed. However, the heads of the so-called ‘republics’ will only come to Minsk when the document is ready, they added later.
