Putin to discuss Russia’s strategy in case access to Internet is blocked
A special meeting of the Security Council will be held in the Kremlin today.
It will be dedicated to the problem of resisting threats in the information sphere. Possible measures in case the Russian segment of the Internet gets isolated from the world network will be focused on, RIA Novosti reports.
The West keeps imposing new sanctions on Russia in connection with its actions in Ukraine. The Russian authorities seem to be trying to activate import substitution in network technologies because ‘the access of Russian citizens to the global network is under American companies’ control now’.
Head of the Russian Ministry of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov has refuted the rumour that the Russian authorities were going to isolate Russia from the Internet. However, Russia’s secretary in case the West decides to do will be discussed.
