Nobel Prize laureate John Nash killed in crash

US mathematician and Nobel Prize laureate John Nash has died together with his wife in a car crash in New Jersey, USA.

Nash was in a taxi at the moment of the car accident, mass media report. The driver lost control of the car and collided with a fence. The mathematician is renowned for his work in game theory, winning the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1994. The mathematician was 86 and his wife – 82.

John Nash inspired the Oscar-winning film A Beautiful Min. The movie got four Oscars in 2001. The film stars Russell Crowe.
