Mourning for deceased miners announced in Ukraine

Petro Poroshenko has announced March 5 the day of mourning for the miners who have died in Zasyadsko mine near Donetsk.

A minute’s silence will start in Ukraine at 12 p.m. on March 5, censor.net.ua reports. Ukrainian flags will be lowered on houses and state buildings. Entertaining events and sports competitions will be cancelled. TV and radio programmes scheduled of the day will be changed too.

The bodies of 33 miners have already been found, UNIAN reports. 23 bodies were found in the evening.

A gas mixture exploded in Zasyadsko mine on the morning of March 4, Euroradio reported. 230 miners were underground at that moment. Most of them have been rescued.
