Moscow Court does not arrest Baranchyk, he may be released

Суд у Маскве не арыштаваў Юрыя Баранчыка, ён можа выйсці на волю

Moscow Court has not arrested Yury Baranchyk, regnum.ru reports. The editor-in-chief of the analytical board of the Russian information agency REGNUM was detained on March 15. The detention had been requested by the Belarusian Investigation Committee. Baranchyk is a Belarusian citizen. He has asked for political asylum in Russia and has sent a request to Vladimir Putin.

Moscow Dorogomilovski Court has refused to arrest Yury Baranchyk. The arguments of the Belarusian Investigation Committee were announced groundless. Baranchyk became wanted when his connection with the illegal activities conducted by REGNUM authors Dzmitry Alimkin, Yury Paulavets and Syarhei Shyptenka detained in December was revealed. They were accused of arousing national, religious or any other social hostility (p.3 of article 130,CC).

Yury Baranchyk may be released when his term of detention is over.
