Belarus-EU relations will keep improving, head of the EU representative office in Belarus Maira Mora hopes. The Belarusian authorities are trying to contact the European Union and are open for a dialogue, she said in the programme Contours on ONT. The recent release of six Belarusian political prisoners including Mikalai Statkevich testifies to it.
Mora: "It had to happen and it has happened. I am hoping that there will be no more problem issues like that in the future. There are a number of questions that still need to be discussed. But I hope that it can be done quietly with the help of mutual trust and a business approach. It can be done the way we have solved the problems that were an obstacle to our relations.”
Maira Mora is about to finish her mission in Belarus. Andrea Wiktorin will replace her in the position.
